 Summary:

A Utilities Supervisor oversees the operation and maintenance of various utility systems, such as water, electricity, gas, industrial utility, Forklifts, AC, compressors, chillers, DM, Boilers, facilities, waste hazard solid, and sewage. Key responsibilities include managing a team of technicians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards, developing maintenance schedules, troubleshooting system issues, coordinating with vendors and contractors, budgeting for equipment and supplies, implementing efficiency improvement initiatives, and developing emergency response plans. Strong leadership, technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, communication abilities, organizational capabilities, and a commitment to continuous learning are essential for success in this role.

 In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Team Management: Supervise, Lead, and coordinate the work of utility technicians and maintenance staff. This involves assigning tasks, providing training, troubleshooting, and conducting performance evaluations to ensure the smooth operation of utility systems.
  • System Operation: Ensure the efficient and reliable operation of utility systems, including water treatment and industrial supply water, electrical distribution, gas supply, sewage disposal, industrial utility, Forklifts, AC, compressor, chillers, DM, Boilers, facilities, and waste hazard solid. Monitor system performance and address any issues promptly. with Overseeing the day-to-day operations of.
  • Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement maintenance schedules for equipment and infrastructure. Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and replacements and ensure that all equipment is well-maintained to prevent downtime and ensure timely inspections, repairs, and replacements.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry codes. to maintain a safe and sustainable working environment. Keep abreast of regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues related to utility systems. Investigate equipment failures, leaks, power outages, or other operational problems and implement corrective measures.
  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors for equipment, repairs, and maintenance services. Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts as needed.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare and manage budgets for utility operations, maintenance, and capital projects. Identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize resource utilization, and track expenses to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans for utility-related incidents such as leaks, power failures, or natural disasters. Coordinate response efforts and ensure continuity of essential services.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of equipment, maintenance activities, inspections, and regulatory compliance. Generate reports on system performance, maintenance costs, operational metrics, management, and regulatory purposes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of utility systems. Implement best practices, technology upgrades, and process improvements to enhance overall performance.
  • Supports planning activities, providing necessary material, to carry out maintenance activities.
  • Participates in the preparation of maintenance programs and/or programming of activities in the area.
  • Prepare technical, daily, and monthly reports to his direct MGT.
  • Implement all maintenance tasks (scheduled & emergent) relevant to rotating and ancillary equipment and emergency tasks.
  • Work within the 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) methodology to maintain the workplace to a high standard.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  • Implement preventive maintenance with analysis and other types of maintenance such as corrective, emergency, etc.
  • Contribute to sharing ideas, suggestions, etc. to improve or develop the equipment, etc. with the maintenance dept.
  • Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to MGT.

 

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

  • Diploma Degree.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the industrial field.

 

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of utility systems such as water treatment and industrial supply water, electrical distribution, gas supply, industrial utility, Forklifts, AC, compressor, chillers, DM, Boilers, facilities and waste hazard solid and sewage disposal is essential. Familiarity with relevant equipment, tools, and technologies is also important.
  • Leadership Abilities: Effective leadership skills to manage and motivate a team, delegate tasks, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues related to utility systems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Analytical Skills: The capacity to analyze data, trends, and performance metrics related to utility operations, maintenance, and costs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry codes relevant to utility systems, with the ability to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Fluency in English language with excellent communication (written & oral) skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
