Sr. Process Safety Engineer Job

Work Location:  KSA > Jizan

 

Advanced Metal Industries Co. (AMIC), which is equally owned by Tasnee and Cristal.

Tasnee, signed a joint venture agreement with Japan’s Toho Titanium Company in January 2014 to build the SAR 1.6 billion project. The titanium sponge project is the region’s first of its type to produce 15,600 tons of pure titanium. The company has sent 69 Saudi engineers to train for two years in Japan on producing pure titanium.

An exciting opportunity is available in Slagger Company for Sr. Process Safety Engineer Based in Jizan and will report directly to Superintendent, Safety

 

About the role:

 

Provide expertise on the PSM agenda programs to drive development of sustainable process safety culture that meets the company and local regulatory requirements.

 

You will be responsible to:

 

  • Use extensive experience with planning responses to industry specific emergencies.
  • Establish and maintains site PSM policies and guidelines so that they are consistent with company PSM procedures.
  • Understand company health, safety, environmental incident investigation techniques and how to implement control procedures.
  • Develop, monitor and establish clear accountability for performance against specific site process safety goals and objectives
  • Monitor and audit operating unit PSM programs through review of PHAs, serious incident reports and other site PSM systems.
  • Assist line management to fulfil l their stated PSM responsibilities and the team is compliant with regulations
  • Carrie out safety inspections, ensures that all personnel and contractors comply with relevant safety policies and regulations
  • Promote workplace safety among supervisors and workers communicates safety rules and regulations.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of plant loss control programs such as incident prevention and process hazard analysis.
  • Resolves or coordinates the resolution of technical issues in the manufacturing process
  • Leads or Participate in technical design and start-up of capital improvements to meet plant objectives. Engineering reviews of fire & safety designs of mega projects. This includes; FEED stage reviews, detailed design reviews, 3D Model reviews
  • Participates in refinement of engineering systems and processes
  • Support the Technical and Quality team and ensure adherence to safe and environmentally correct safe work practices, a proactive approach to teamwork, continuous improvement and cost-reduction
  • Lead or participate plant process safety deviations and incidents investigation and  problem resolution
  • Provide technical support relating to process safety
  • Participate in team projects or initiatives. Identify and share continuous improvement ideas that may enhance process safety, reliability or mechanical integrity, and cost reduction
  • Maintain and foster collaborative effort with Production, Maintenance/Reliability, Engineering, and the Technical and Quality teams to identify, establish and share best practices
  • Complete reports and documentation as required.

 

About You:

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or relevant

Minimum Experience:

  • 4-7 years experienced as Process Safety Engineer

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management Principles
  • Strong leadership skills and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Strong knowledge of Training and Development areas.
  • Knowledge of Qualitative/Quantitative Risk analysis (QRA) & Business Risk Analysis (BRA) techniques, preparation, and analysis
  • Expertise in applying root cause analysis in process related incident investigations.
  • Familiarity with the Smelters /Furnaces sector or a related industry
