Sr Technician II, Shift Maintenance Job

Work Location:  KSA > Jizan

An exciting opportunity is available for Senior Technician Shift Maintenance, based in KSA who will report directly to Workshop Superintendent. 

Summary:

We are seeking for a motivated Technician Shift Maintenance who will perform/determine maintenance activities on company assets. The role holder works on shift (largely independently), reports to a day-shift Superintendent, and is authorized to conduct an initial review and to sign off on completed tasks using the related IT system. May also be assisted by the technicians at Stage A to facilitate completion of tasks as per defined quality and HSE standards

 

In this role, you will be responsible of:

  • Create and maintain a working environment for people to achieve excellence in their working environment
  • Approach all aspect of the work being performed with safety as the highest priority.
  • Escalates issues to his superior for work which does not appear to be valid or costly.
  • Review the work to be performed and determine the best way to accomplish the work. They will consult with applicable Supervisors, Production Supervisors, Planner/Schedule and Stores as necessary.
  • Monitoring and commissioning plant and systems.
  • Continuously improves the job estimate, planning and scheduling by receiving feedback from maintenance supervisors, production supervisors, engineers and production planners.
  • Follow up with supervisors to ensure that completed work job packets are turned in with improvement comments in a timely fashion.
  • Provide job estimates based on craft or skills required, sequence required and number required.
  • Discussing and solving complex problems with production departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers.
  • Good experience in conveyor belt maintenance with tracking the conveyor in case of misalignment.
  • Manage the status of work control and backlog for work order submission to work order completion.
  • Verifies all material, information, tools and labor are available prior to commencement of work.
  • Has good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems with the troubleshooting for both systems. 
  • Has a good experience in shaft alignment.
  • Has a good experience in assembly and dismantling the bearings and its lubrication.
  • Manage and attend breakdown job in shift independently.
  • Maintain inventory of non-stock and selected items required to ensure continued operability of equipment.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures on plant equipment to identify cause and determine needed repairs and conduct more complex maintenance tasks/repair on assigned assets – in a specific discipline.
  • Report all activity that happen during his shift to following shift in shift logbook and SAP.
  • Provide prompt response to on call requests within the guidelines and standards of maintenance to ensure timely and effective uptime.
  • Report any deficiencies on equipment through proper communication channels and reporting. Assist stage A technicians to support on all defined maintenance tasks as per delegated authority to facilitate completion of tasks as per defined timelines.
  • Monitor and control of contract technicians, craftsman for specific labour and asset maintenance.
  • Regularly contribute towards the training of various trainees in the department to ensure availability of competent technicians in the future.
  • Has good knowledge of dealing with lubrication system and able to change oil and filter

 

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

  • Millwright (3 year tertiary (Diploma level)  combined Mechanical and Electrical
  • 10 years of relevant experience in heavy industry.
  • Heavy industry but preferably the smelting industry

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Facilitate team collaboration and provide visibility and solutions
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Extensive PLC (Siemens) background is necessary.
  • Extensive Electrical background is necessary
  • Extensive mechanical equipment background is necessary
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and provide simple and accurate instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, wiring diagram, P&ID and machine process drawings.
  • Knowledge and understands the maintenance processes and proper use of the work order system, planning and scheduling and storeroom processes.
  • Building and repairing a variety of Electrical equipment.
  • Work in shifts.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Safety Awareness and responsible work attitude.
  • Ability to work at heights and cramped spaces.
  • Knowledge of field instruments.
  • Ability to attend breakdown job independently.
