Sr Technician II, Instrument Job

An exciting opportunity is available for Senior Instrument Technician located in Jubail.

 

Job Purpose

 

The Senior Instrument Technician is responsible for supporting instrumentation activities during construction, commissioning, and maintenance phases of the plant. The role ensures the reliability, accuracy, and safe operation of instrumentation systems while maintaining compliance with company standards, procedures, and safety requirements.

 

Role Responsibilities:

 

  • Execute instrumentation installation, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Read, interpret, and modify technical documents such as P&IDs, loop diagrams, specification sheets, and hook-up drawings.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain field instruments including transmitters (pressure, flow, level, temperature) and control valves.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose control systems, including PLCs and machine monitoring systems (e.g., Bentley Nevada).
  • Perform maintenance on instrumentation equipment such as control valves, gauges, and analyzers. 
  • Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Use and maintain instrumentation tools, fittings, and testing equipment effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient execution of maintenance and project activities.

 

Qualification, Experience Required:

 

  • Diploma in instrument or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience or above working as Instrument technician in Petrochemical, Oil & Gas sectors.

 

Must-haves Technical Skills:

 

  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills in instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Good understanding of control system logic (open loop, closed loop, and safety overrides).
  • High attention to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and consistently complete tasks to a high standard.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
