Specialist I, Materials QC Inspector Job
Advanced smelting Industries Co. (ASIC), which is equally owned by Tasnee.
The smelter is situated in the Jizan Economic City and is designed to smelt ilmenite (Titanium rich mineral sand) to produce Titania Dioxide slag and pig iron. The plant consists of two Electric Arc furnaces, each with a capacity of 250kt slag and 125kt pig iron. The slag that is produced is tapped from the furnace and processed to be used as feed stock for the titanium chlorination and sulphuric acid processes to finally produce Titanium pigment which is mainly used in paints and plastics.
An exciting opportunity is available for Specialist, Materials QC Inspector Based in Jizan.
About the role:
Responsible for making sure that the received materials Spare Parts, maintenance & production consumables, safety supplies and lab consumables meets the specification and standards of ASIC. Their duties include inspection of all materials received in warehouse, cataloging of spares, and materials in SAP according to the cataloging standards of ASIC, technical evaluation of quotations received from supplier and ensuring the spares are assigned in bill of materials in SAP.
You will be responsible to:
- Ensure adherence of safety practices.
- Inspection of all incoming materials, spare parts and consumables conform to the stipulated purchase order in terms of specification.
- Ensure material is being stocked according to a well-defined stocking location strategy.
- Interface with purchasing, maintenance, engineering & other departments to obtain requirements, technical information, and updates.
- Answer material technical queries of inventory controller, plant engineers, issuing and receiving storekeepers/clerks, and purchasing and finance sections.
- Initiate report as required in the event of receipt of nonconforming material and coordinate with end users and procurement to take appropriate action.
- Cataloging of all the new material requests from end users according to ASIC specification standards.
- Review creation of new stock materials to avoid of duplication of stocks.
- Ensure that the spare in inventory is mapped in bill of materials in SAP.
- Conduct inspection of materials in inventory and ensure the integrity of the spares stored, this includes periodic inspection of rotating equipment and maintain the records.
About You:
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or related.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years in industrial sector working with SAP and material inspection.
Required Skills:
- Knowledgeable of Safety regulatory standards.
- Ability to demonstrate vision and insight in business.
- Internal Customer focus in delivering excellent service levels.
- Ability to interact with Production and Maintenance department and understanding the production maintenance philosophy and needs.
- Solid Knowledge in SAP system, Material Management Module.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications for equipment, spare parts, and consumables.
- Awareness of ASTM material standards.
- Ability to read and Interpret P&I Drawings.
- Awareness of parts interchangeability.
- Working knowledge in Sphera Struxure cataloging tool.
- Ability to conduct QC inspection for spare parts and consumables.
- Professional communications skills including demonstrated proficiency with internal and external communications and relationship management.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills and conflict resolution sufficient to communicate. performance expectations and motivate and retain staff members.
- Interpret Technical Specifications for Equipment, Spare parts, and Consumables.
- Ability to manage work stress and business pressures.
