Section Head, Flexible Packaging & Fiber Job

An exciting opportunity is available for Section Head, Flexible Packaging & Fiber, based in Jubail and will reports directly to GM, Applications &Technical Support.

Job purpose:

Responsible for the planning and oversight of Research and Development tasks and related activities and the day-to-day management of identified staff and resources in the field of flexible packaging film & fibre and it’s processes/material.

          Qualification and Requirements:

• Master/PhD Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material/Polymer Science, or a relevant discipline.
• 15-20 years’ experience with master’s or 8-10 years’ experience with PhD

           Position Responsibilities:

1. Brings thought leadership in flexible packaging film and fiber (mainly polyolefin film and fibers) and it’s material/processes field to guide the planning, development, coordination, and directing of projects of major scope and importance. Key area of expertise (not limited to):
   • Polyolefin film and fiber production (BOPP, Blown, Cast, spinning etc)
   • Film & Fiber Material/grades qualification and development
   • Additive/masterbatch development for film & fiber
   • New application in area of polyolefin film and fiber
2. Leads team by providing guidance to complex problems related to flexible packaging film and fiber developmental technologies that impact current products and processes and/or address development issues for future products or technologies from development to manufacturing.
3. Serves as the technical lead for the flexible packaging film and fiber in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes for an assigned area of responsibility.
4. Gains early insights to advanced technological developments and research by liaising and managing relationships with value-adding partnership with external parties (R&D centers, think tanks, universities, etc.)
5. Gains recognition as an internal or external subject matter expert in the field of flexible packaging film & fiber by demonstrating unique ability to innovate, bring unique features and/or characteristics to products and/or processes; and troubleshoot complex problems and serves as an advisor to other scientists in the field.
6. Develops, promote, and implement complex and/or significant technology changes in the field of flexible packaging film and fiber to the team.
7. Plays a significant role in the preparation of reports, papers, presentations, new proposals. Presents papers at technical meetings.
8. Participates in the recruitment, training, coaching and performance management of designated employees.
9. Ensures delivery of planned tasks and activities, taking decisions on problems and methodology and resourcing issues.
10. Ensures compliance to company and regulatory policies and procedures.
