Manager, Chemical Business Job

Work Location:  KSA > Riyadh

An exciting opportunity is available for a Manager, Chemical Business and will report directly to GM, Chemical BU

 

About the role:

 

  • Accountable for maximizing economic value and for directing key functions at the BU: sales & operations planning, operating cost control, and inventory management.
  • Responsible for executing BU Chemicals’ strategy and achieving its growth and profitability targets, by setting and executing the business and marketing strategy for AA, SAP and Butanol products, assessing changes in market trends and conditions and formulating optimal pricing strategies

 

you will be responsible to:

 

Strategy Formulation

  • As a member of the BU Chemicals management team, contributes to the formulation and implementation of the business and marketing strategy and plans as appropriate to achieve the necessary goals and objectives

Policies, Processes and Procedures

  • Contributes to SBU Petrochemicals investment and growth policies & programs to ensure all relevant requirements are set out clearly and managed efficiently.

Marketing functions

  • Develop and recommends annual marketing agreement for AA, SAP and Butanol products in conjunction with SBU Petrochemicals’ production plants to ensure production plans, inventory stocks levels, regional material allocation and pricing framework run smoothly as end-to end processes with enough flexibility to make adjustments if needed.
  • Collaborate with internal and external sources to ensure that pricing intelligence on AA, SAP and Butanol products is gathered to make informed pricing decisions while accounting for regional variations.
  • Directs the allocation of material regionally with minimum prices for each product to ensure that sales activities operate within a planned framework based on netback analysis. This ensures that all regional markets are targeted for minimum sales quotas and on-going sales data is used to guide pricing forward.

Business functions

  • Analyze economic impact of different pricing options and assess the effect of sales activities in different regions.
  • Drive strategic initiatives focused on reducing operating costs.
  • Liaise with the Finance Business Partner to ensure that financial performance is measured and acted upon: provide inputs for regular management reporting, review results of actual vs previous year vs budget performance.
  • Evaluating the production processes and complexity and coordinate with manufacturing plants to identify and formulate cost improvement projects while not compromising on quality.
  • Lead cost improvement projects and other initiatives at plants to ensure that the plant’s P&L will meet financial goals and targets.

 

About You:

 

Minimum Qualification:

  • University degree in an engineering discipline (preferably in Industrial Engineering) .
  • Certification in Six Sigma Black Belt or similar preferred

Minimum Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in the Petrochemicals industry with 4 years’ experience in business

Job Specific Skills:

  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Business skills and understanding, financial awareness, budgeting and forecasting
  • Knowledge of chemicals industry business environment and marketing requirement
  • Strong understanding of business and management principles (budgeting and resource allocation) and familiarity with finance and accounting practices
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong marketing knowledge, including pricing and market research
