Pipe Scientist Job

Work Location:  KSA > Jubail
An exciting opportunity is available for a Pipe Scientist based in Jubail T&I and will report directly to Head of Pipe.
 
About the role:
 
In this role, you will be responsible to:
- Perform tasks/projects of a larger scope and assumes some leadership for specific tasks within the project scope in the field of Plastic Pipe preferable polyolefin/HDPE such as material characterization for pipe grades, prepare material data sheet, pipe qualification and performance approval program according to international standards, market need and customer requirements, manage new pipe developments project to fit specific application requirements and meet the deliverables plan and milestones of the project. Engages in initiatives of moderate difficulty.

- Evaluates, selects and applies procedures and techniques in the field of pipe extrusion, new processing technologies. Identifies problems and related technical issues leading to long-term, generic solutions in the area of pipe and pipe materials.

- Define work-plans and approaches and assumes responsibility for timeliness, cost effectiveness, and quality of outputs.  Continually aims to enhance capabilities for project planning, including assessment of cost, scope and schedule against plan.

- Contributes in providing ideas to improve the efficiency of the unit in the area of pipe field.

- Improves technical expertise and knowledge through experience and application in the area of plastic pipes.

- Play an active role in the preparation of reports, papers, presentations, new proposals. Presents papers at technical meetings.  Starts becoming part of identifiable external peer network.

- Assist in planning, evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard scientific techniques and procedures.

- Adhere to high process standards by applying the principles of the scientific method; documenting and sharing best practices; and engaging with centres of excellence from academia, industry, and specialized organizations.

- Adhere to high process standards by implementing quality assurance processes, implementing and complying with safety and environmental standards, and respecting regulatory guidelines.

 
 
 About You:
 
You will ideally be required to have the following requirements.
 
- BS Degree or Masters or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Material/Polymer Science or related field

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience for BS. Holders, 3 years for MS holders , any for Ph.D. holders. 

- Experience in the field of plastic pipes (preferably HDPE) operation, troubleshooting and improvement.

- Original research and academic publications in relevant fields
