Engineer III, Process Technology Job

An exciting opportunity is available for Engineer III, Process Technology, based in Jizan and will reports directly to Superintendent, Process Technology.

Summary

To ensure stable and efficient operation of the smelting and treatment processes by analysing data and taking appropriate steps to ensure process stability. Furthermore ensure that subordinates are continuously trained in the art of chemistry control.

In this role, you will be responsible of:   

1. Identify competency levels of plant metallurgists and or metallurgical assistants with regard to chemistry control on a continuous basis.
   2. Monitor all raw material and product analysis and adjust feed ratio’s as per quality spec requirements
   3. Manage furnaces chemistry control and furnace stability
   4. Effectively fulfils standby duties as required
   5. Manage small projects as delegated from the Superintendent, Process Technology
   6. Maintain and improve safety and quality standards (ISO 9001, 14000, 18001)
   7. Reconcile raw material stock levels weekly and monthly and report to cost accountant
   8. Attend to process failures and ensure speedy recovery of processes
   9. Improve and maintain cross functional customer relationships
   10. Assist with trouble shooting in order to identify root cause for substandard operating conditions.
   11. Manage slag and iron grades as per customer requirements
   12. Work with engineering in managing furnaces, iron and slag plant to operate at maximum capacity
   13. Ensure metallurgical calculator at injection station is correct to ensure quality pig iron
   14. Analyse final product quality and raise non-conformances when required.
   15. Actively participate in incident investigations and ensure timeous close out
   16. Actively participate in all required meetings pertaining to the operations as required
    

About You:

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

• BS in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgical

• 8 - 12 years of smelting experience
