Engineer II, Safety Job

Work Location:  KSA > Jizan



Advanced Metal Industries Co. (AMIC), which is equally owned by Tasnee and Cristal.

Tasnee, signed a joint venture agreement with Japan’s Toho Titanium Company in January 2014 to build the SAR 1.6 billion project. The titanium sponge project is the region’s first of its type to produce 15,600 tons of pure titanium. The company has sent 69 Saudi engineers to train for two years in Japan on producing pure titanium.


An exciting opportunity is available for Engineer II, Safety, based in Jizan and will reports directly to Manager, EHSS.



The objective of this role is to provide field and administrative support to the EHSS Department’s strategic plan, taking active roles in strategies and initiatives where appropriate.  The Safety Engineer is responsible to observe, address and report unsafe acts and conditions in compliance with company, client and legislated policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines.


*In this role, you will be responsible of: 
1. Mentoring, performing inspections, supervising work, checking documentation and counselling on SHE.
2. Attending and participating in the various SHE training, worker orientations, toolbox talks, investigations, pre-job talks, safety campaigns etc.
3. Participating in the promotion of safety as the highest priority; responsible to practice due diligence in that you will help cultivate a positive safety culture and do everything reasonable to help the company prevent accidents, injuries, and disease.
4. Being available to consult on SHE matters, escalating issues as appropriate
5. Performing specialized field audits ie. PTW, Confined Spaces, LOTO, Hot Work etc.
6. Communicating with other departments, provide advice, develop toolbox talks, bulletins, posters, etc. as needed.
7. Supporting other SHE Functions as needed ie. PSM, Security, MOH, ERT etc.
8. Making sure that injured workers receive first aid and medical attention, and to perform accident and incident investigations on the forms provided.
9. Participating in the development of safe work plans, performing hazard risk analysis and producing safety/hazard alerts.
10. Participating in Paired Assessments, plant tours, inspections, drills, etc.
11. Deputizing for SHE superintendent during periods of absence, or as request.
12. Producing SHE reports for area on an agreed frequency.
13. Participating in Investigations and assist with documentation i.e. PINS, 5 Why’s, etc.
14. Referencing to Safety rep support and development.

*Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Environmental  Engineering/Natural Resources, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or formal recognized HS&E qualifications/certification.
- Five (5) years of related work experience.
- Construction, Manufacturing &/or chemical industry background.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- High level of computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
