Engineer II, Process Technology Job

Work Location:  KSA > Jizan

 

Advanced smelting Industries Co. (ASIC), which is equally owned by Tasnee.

The smelter is situated in the Jizan Economic City and is designed to smelt ilmenite (Titanium rich mineral sand) to produce Titania Dioxide slag and pig iron. The plant consists of two Electric Arc furnaces, each with a capacity of 250kt slag and 125kt pig iron. The slag that is produced is tapped from the furnace and processed to be used as feed stock for the titanium chlorination and sulphuric acid processes to finally produce Titanium pigment which is mainly used in paints and plastics.

An exciting opportunity is available for Engineer II, Process Technology Based in Jizan and will report directly to Superintendent, Process Technology.

 

About the role:

 

To provide daily technical and operational support within the Jizan Slagger process and production environment. To develop and implement process and technical solutions based on well-developed knowledge of engineering standards and practices to improve operations on the medium to long term.

 

You will be responsible to:

 

  • Monitor operations and report on production and process performance.
  • Ensure processes of plants operate within the prescribed process parameters.
  • Ensure quality performance meets product and customer specifications.
  • Conduct plant and process health and risk assessments and HAZOP studies.
  • Investigate quality non-conformance and implement solutions to deviations.
  • Champion Process Safety and maintain requirements as per standard.
  • Assist Production and Engineering with technical fault finding and RCA.
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve operational performance.
  • Develop improvement concepts and conduct basic process engineering design.
  • Maintain and develop process and operating models.
  • Conduct production reconciliation and metallurgical accounting.
  • Evaluate and implement capital projects.
  • Ensure and maintain a healthy work environment and safe operations and practices.
  • Develop and maintain operational reports.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures.
  • Develop and review technical documents and operating instructions.
  • Conduct desktop and pre-feasibility studies toward improving processes.
  • Align with operational excellence and ISO standards.
  • Conduct standby duty and work shifts when required.

 

Minimum Qualification:

  • Metallurgical / Chemical Engineering Degree.

Minimum Experience:

5 - 10 years operational experience within a heavy industry environment (chemical, minerals processing or pyrometallurgy operations)

 

Required Skills:

  • Experience in chemical and/or mineral processing and/or pyrometallurgical operations.
  • Experience in operational monitoring and reporting on production and process performance.
  • Experience in monitoring of quality performance of operational processes.
  • Experience in production reconciliation and accounting.
  • Experience in technical fault finding and RCA techniques.
  • Experience in basic process engineering design.
  • Experience in the implementation of capital and engineering projects to improve operational performance.
  • Knowledge of principles of Process Safety, HAZOP studies and risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of and experience with water treatment processes.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards.
  • Knowledge of and experience with process and operating models.
  • Able to work with a diverse team of technical and non-technical people.
  • Able to teach others in technical and operational aspects.
  • Need to have excellent analytical skills, paying attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Must be effective and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Highly computer literate and well experienced in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Exceptional communication and technical report writing skills.
