Engineer I, Mechanical Job

Advanced smelting Industries Co. (ASIC), which is equally owned by Tasnee.

The smelter is situated in the Jizan Economic City and is designed to smelt ilmenite (Titanium rich mineral sand) to produce Titania Dioxide slag and pig iron. The plant consists of two Electric Arc furnaces, each with a capacity of 250kt slag and 125kt pig iron. The slag that is produced is tapped from the furnace and processed to be used as feed stock for the titanium chlorination and sulphuric acid processes to finally produce Titanium pigment which is mainly used in paints and plastics.

An exciting opportunity is available for Mechanical Engineer Based in Jizan and will report directly to Superintendent, Reliability and Planning

About the role:

Evaluates and designs mechanical system and solutions to the site. Provides the expertise and technical support to maintain and improve the reliability of the plant.

Originates and develops analysis methods to determine reliability of components, equipment, and processes. Acquires and analyzes data. Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports to define reliability problems and make recommendations for improvements. Create PmPd program for mechanical equipment and follow up on their implementation and quality. follow up on RCA and failure reporting for mechanical equipment.

You will be responsible to:

• Understand /apply industry standards for site design needs.
• Create PmPd procedures and policies for mechanical equipment and follow up on their implementation.
• Co-operate with OEM suppliers to get optimum solutions.
• Provide and document technical information needed to operation and maintenance.
• Provide the expertise and technical support to maintain and improve the reliability of systems in the plant including the data gathering, failure analysis, (RCFA). troubleshooting and development of predictive/preventive maintenance programs for equipment.
• Continuously monitor and analyse equipment performance and implement measures to improve reliability and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Establish and maintain planned and predictive maintenance programs for equipment like vibration and oil analysis and set parameters for and type of maintenance. performed within the programs, develop Equipment Criticality Index for site assets.
• Maintain records on equipment histories and costs, coordinate with operations and maintenance supervisors for needed changes toward increasing reliability.
• Recommending equipment, tools, materials, and spare parts.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to optimize plant designs for cost effectiveness, reliability, operability, and maintainability.
• Follow industry standards and guidelines required to achieve compliance with government laws and policies and industry best practices.
• Ensure minimal process plant downtime due to equipment failures.
• Comply with all relevant quality and HSE procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

Minimum Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field.

Minimum Experience:

• 7 Years of experience or more in Reliability Engineering roles.

Required Skills:

• Good experience in mechanical equipment, including pumps, conveyors, fans, compressors ..etc.
• Good experience in creating and following up on PmPd works for mechanical equipment.
• Good experience on failure analysis, RCAs and equipment upgrade.
• Good experience in Condition based monitoring 2, including vibration and oil analysis.
• Preferably certified in vibration analysis, oil analysis and lubrication.
• preferably good experience in smelter plants and furnaces.
• Good experience on CMMS preferably SAP.
• Knowledge of industry equipment reliability and data acquisition and analysis systems.
• Good knowledge of procedures for start-up, operating routines, emergencies, routine inspection, and maintenance.
• Strong computer and reporting skills
• Excellent verbal and written English skills.
