Sr Supervisor, Workshop Job

Work Location:  KSA > Jizan

 

Advanced smelting Industries Co. (ASIC), which is equally owned by Tasnee.

The smelter is situated in the Jizan Economic City and is designed to smelt ilmenite (Titanium rich mineral sand) to produce Titania Dioxide slag and pig iron. The plant consists of two Electric Arc furnaces, each with a capacity of 250kt slag and 125kt pig iron. The slag that is produced is tapped from the furnace and processed to be used as feed stock for the titanium chlorination and sulphuric acid processes to finally produce Titanium pigment which is mainly used in paints and plastics.

An exciting opportunity is available for Sr Supervisor I, Workshop Based in Jizan and will report directly to Superintendent, workshop.

 

About the role:

 

The Workshop Sr Supervisor oversees multiple workshop teams in performing preventive, corrective and repair maintenance of workshop and plant equipment. He plans and assigns workshop teams by redirecting resources to meet service requirements and prioritised maintenance, as well as reviews maintenance work and recommends improvement initiatives to achieve established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). He also deploys teams to manage Equipment breakdowns.

 

He is required to work in the workshops and site. In addition, he possesses excellent technical and supervisory skills, and is able to coordinate work activities across multiple workshop teams.

The Workshop Sr Supervisor is responsible for the management of workshop staff, assuring their work quality and all matters relating to mechanical services are achieved. This position ensures the designated workshop area is maintained in accordance with 5S requirements.

 

You will be responsible to:

 

  • Planning maintenance schedules and activities to minimize downtime.
  • Prioritizing work schedules for repairs, rebuilds and maintenance.
  • Directing and supervising workshop technicians, Mechanics, Fabricators, Welders, machinists
  • Ensuring compliance with SHE policies.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workshop Implement 5S.
  • Managing and reporting workplace incidents and safety breaches.
  • Review quotes for materials and supplies.
  • Scoping and estimating costs and timeframes for maintenance work.
  • Reviewing completed works.
  • Follow up and close the Work order in SAP.

 

Minimum Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or diploma combined with relevant experience.

Professional/Technical certifications/accreditation in relevant discipline.

 

Minimum Experience:

10 years of experience or more in heavy industry preferably smelting industry.

  • Excellent knowledge and hands on experience of multi mechanical works and repairs including pumps, conveyors, compressors … using vendors instructions, OEM manuals and drawings.

  • Excellent experience in assembly, disassembly of equipment in addition to installation and dismantling supervision on site.
  • Good knowledge in maintenance workshop supervision, including material handling, control on consumables, tools, checklist implementations.
